In this role, the College is seeking an experienced Creative Director responsible for leading the artistic and design direction for Hillsdale College marketing activities and materials (print, digital, video). The Creative Director will help to implement the institution’s strategic and creative effort to share the College’s mission with audiences around the country through directing an in-house creative services team. The Creative Director guides all creative, branding, and marketing projects and is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative team and marketing department.

As an integral member of the marketing leadership team, the Creative Director reports to the Vice President of Marketing. This person will help to radiate the activity of the College (the mission of the College) to audiences across the country through strategic and creative content that inspires action. Specifically, the Creative Director will drive leadership and oversight for the College’s creative output through multiple mediums, platforms, and properties and manage a core team within the Office of the Vice President for Marketing that also includes student interns and outside partners for additional support.

Ability to read, write, hear, speak, see and communicate effectively. Ability to operate basic office equipment to include, photocopier, fax machine, adding machine, computer equipment, and the like. Position is largely sedentary. Occasional lifting of office supplies, etc. is necessary.
The Creative Director interacts with the entire Hillsdale College audience. A neat appearance and a pleasant relationship that is supportive of the College mission is essential. This relationship needs to be supportive and professional, while maintaining confidentiality as needed.
