The BCSI Publishing Project Manager and Editor position requires someone with excellent verbal and organizational abilities. Further, it requires the entrepreneurial skill to solve problems and take a product from concept to reality through collaboration and good planning abilities.

Education and Experience
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience managing editorial; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job. Knowledge of contracting procedures with freelancers in publishing is a plus.
1. Knowledge of office procedures and computer skills. 2. Ability to assist in after-hours activities as needed. 3. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to express ideas effectively. 4. Knowledge of program planning and data collection. 5. Ability to keep calm and remain personable under pressure. 6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadline pressures. 7. Possess excellent organizational skills. 8. Ability to proof read material. 9. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
The Publishing Project Manager and Editor interacts with College staff and the entire Hillsdale audience. A neat appearance and a pleasant relationship that is supportive of the College mission is essential. This relationship needs to be pleasant, supportive and professional, while maintaining confidentiality as needed. Additionally, all BCSI personnel must have good communication skills in order to effectively discuss Hillsdale College and the Barney Charter School Initiative to individuals across the country. Candidates must have an understanding of the mission of Hillsdale College and its philosophy, as well as educational practices and philosophies of the Initiative.
